Van Zandt Co. Commissioner's trial underway

(KYTX) Canton - The trial for Van Zandt County Commissioner Ricky LaPrade began Monday. He's accused of driving drunk in a county vehicle.
On the stand Monday afternoon, Deputy Bradley Roop described the events captured on dash cam video in April 2011 at the Whataburger on I-20 in Canton.
Roop told the court he was meeting a canton officer for dinner -- and when he drove up to the restaurant he saw LaPrade's truck.
"The vehicle was in the parking lot with lights on and reverse lights on," he testified.
Roop watched as Canton officer, Heath Burton, walked up to the truck.
Roop said they both saw LaPrade "slouched over toward the steering wheel. He appeared to be asleep," he said.
Roop says Ofc. Burton woke up LaPrade and the truck started rolling back. Roop then testified he watched Burton give LaPrade a sobriety test.
"It looked like he (LaPrade) was having trouble with the test," Roop testified.
