Hmm, Modern Warfare 3 or Battlefield 3, that's a hard one, both games have merit yet I would have to say as an overall package MW3 just shades it. I absolutely adore Bf's multiplayer and think the developers have done a cracking job of creating a game with such scope and variety on console, however I have to say, the campaign is a complete and utter waste; very short, uninteresting and an absolute bore throughout which was particularly disappointing as Bad Company 2 single player was so good. Modern Warfare on the other hand sticks to a solid tried and tested formula which works well but is certainly starting to show its age, the multiplayer is good with its shake up of the level and perk system but still feels restrictive in comparison to BF. The campaign on the other hand is excellent, like its predecessors it maintains interesting gun play against a good enemy AI, however it must be said the story is as crap as ever. Neither are game of the year material (that accolade goes to Uncharted 3) but both are good games and do a good job of appealing to a wide audience.
