Tripp Lite helps Arab Open University in Amman combat power problems

The Arab Open University (AOU) has more than 30,000 students in seven countries, with a student population of 2,500 at the Amman campus in Jordan. This Amman campus recently opened a new PC lab that required reliable power protection for the new equipment, as well as the existing sound system, which is used for lectures and presentations. Tripp Lite, a world leading manufacturer of power protection and IT infrastructure equipment, provided the solution for the university which was implemented by OFFTEC, a Tripp Lite Critical Application Partner.

"One of the chief concerns that the Arab Open University raised with us was the need to have a reliable power supply to ensure that classes would remain uninterrupted," said Vipin Sharma, Tripp Lite's Vice President-Middle East, Africa and CIS Sales. "Understanding this need, we recommended an SU10KRT3UHV, a 10kVA SmartOnline double-conversion UPS, in each room inside the PC Labs. Every UPS system is equipped with an SNMPWEBCARD to enable remote monitoring.
